Ride with us over our farm and up Mt Karioi where you will see wonderful views of the beach, ocean and rolling valleys. We ride through native bush, over streams and down onto the beautiful Ruapuke beach where the black iron (volcanic) sand glistens. Feel the wind on your face – this is a horse adventure with an edge!
Extreme Horse Adventure
Our world-famous 2 1/2 – 3 hour extreme horse adventure with an edge will take your breath away. The bush, the birds, the streams, the environment at Ruapuke, the salt, the sun, the wind, the Ocean (and yes – you DO get to go in it!) the awesome guides and of course – the horses!
This ride has it all, and is tailored to suit our riders every trek. Every ride is unique! All need is to be keen and a little adventurous, we will look after you. Novice riders are very welcome, we always makes sure to match you with the perfect horse. If you’re a more experienced rider, we will cater for you too with a more challenging ride. All our horses are beautiful, intelligent and colourful!
Prices: $190 per adult (16+) $170 per child
Beach, Burgers & Beer
Experience the afternoon Extreme Horse Adventure – plus some delicious locally sourced produce to reward you at the end. Feast on produce from the farm and garden, Raglan sourced bread, plus some good Kiwi wine and beer. This is a magic way to finish an amazing ride – food, beer, friends, family and the chance to meet new people while sitting with a view of the ocean. At Ruapuke, we get the last of the sun!
This option is only available October to April. Vegetarian options available for Beach, Burgers and Beers on request. Minimum of 2 people.
Prices: $230 per person
Group Rate (4+people): $210 per person
We have a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 6 people per horse trek.
Our minimum age is 12 unless the child has had some prior lessions. We don’t have ponies and we don’t lead them.
We have a weight limit of 100kgs however we do take into consideration fitness and riding ability so please get in touch with us about this.
Please be honest about your riding ability as we only want to pick the best horse for you! It is better to understate than overstate. If a majority of your riding has been done in Western Style please let us know this too. We ride predomantley in Australian Stock saddles and a few English GP saddles.
